Manglik Sar Peak (6,050 m) is located in the heart of the Karakoram Range in Shimshal, the most remote valley of the region. The expedition begins in Islamabad, drives the Karakoram Highway through Naran to Hunza, then enters Shimshal Valley by 4x4 jeep. A four-day trek reaches base camp at 4,735 m, from where the non-technical summit is attempted. The journey continues with a six-day trek over three high passes, ending near Khunjerab Pass at the Pakistan-China border.
