The capital of this place is Gahkuch. The beautiful Ghizer Valley falls between Gilgit and Chitral and its border is connected with Tajikistan through the Qurumber Pass and Ishkomen Valley of Yasin. These are connected via Shandur Pass. Ghizer valley is culturally rich and three major languages are spoken in this valley the Khowar, Shina, and brushki. Apart from these languages, wakhi language is also spoken in the Ishkoman valley of Yasin. There are ten districts in Gilgit Baltistan one of which is the Ghizer Valley known for its scenic beauty. This valley is blessed with various treasures. It is generally recognized across the globe as peaceful love and profoundly hospitable and natural beauty. It is also known for its eye-catching beauty which includes the lush green landscape and the freshwater lakes as well as the amazing peaks surrounding this valley. The peaks covering this area are the Himalayas and the Hindukush range of peaks. The Name Ghizer is extracted from the word GHERZ which means refugees in Khowar. The history behind this name is that the people of Chitral migrated to Gupis due to the injustice of the Mehtar of Chitral so this place was named GHERZ due to the refugees from Chitral who settled here were called Gherzic. When Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was in a ruling he abolished the FCR and Rajgi system and made Ghizer a district that comprised tehsils. On this trip to Ghizer Valley, we will explore the whole area of Ghizer including Khalti Lake, the beautiful Phandar valley, and Gupis Valley. We will also explore the Shandur Pass, trout fish farm, and the Ishkoman valley and enjoy the shopping in Gilgit Markets.
