- Sambaksar Lake is a lesser-known yet wonderfully gorgeous lake in Pakistan’s Naran Kaghan area. Nestled at a steep elevation of 13,700 feet above sea level, the lake is flanked by towering rocky walls, hence its name “Sambak” meaning rocky wall, and “Sar” meaning lake. For the majority of the year, Sambaksar remains frozen, with a thick sheet of ice covering its surface, creating a beautiful, surreal landscape. The frozen lake is equally enchanting, with its immaculate white expanse juxtaposed against the rough mountains that surround it.
